CREATE TRANSPARENCY

Dependency analysis module

A major challenge in IT transformation and data center relocation is the huge complexity of the underlying technical, logical, and specialist dependencies. If this structure of dependency is ignored during the project, this can have unintended – and sometimes grave – consequences. These can include sudden system failures, cost overruns, or logical errors in the interaction of several components, which in turn can damage a company’s reputation or even result in compensation claims.

Go4-transformation allows for targeted analysis of dependencies and the bringing together of migration and relocation objects in a meaningful way (i.e. clusters of logical or physical elements that have to be treated as a unit). This is essential for planning the individual relocation waves and incorporating all the relevant organizational units.

Hierarchical representation

Depending on the area and planning task, different views are offered (e.g. the hierarchical drill-down feature). These are used to display, for example, the dependencies of a process or service transparently.

Click on the blue info icons to show more details.

Service

As a starting point, a service can be selected, for example

Server

SEPARABLE DEPENDENCY

The gray line means: this dependency between the services can be separated under certain conditions

BUSINESS PROCESS

Description of the business process, priority, and SLA

Service

All dependent services are shown. A green dot means: this service has already been successfully transformed. An orange dot means: the workflow for transformation planning has already been carried out. No dot means: planning has not yet taken place

SERVER WITH NON-SEPARABLE DEPENDENCY

The red line means: the dependency cannot be separated without affecting the selected service and the business process concerned. The orange dot indicates that the transformation of the server has already been planned in Go4 transformation

Alternatively, the dependencies can be displayed as a network. Here, the focus is on the interrelationships, with different connection lines representing the type of dependency (e.g. dashed = separable relationship). Here, too, the user has the option of displaying only the required information with the clever use of filter settings. More detailed information is available via the drill-down feature. Using the export features, the specified views can be exported directly to PDF or PNG format and processed further.
